I'd love to have a trip up some time. I don't get that far north very often at all so all the more reason to make the effort! Where abouts is your sister based?

It's all well and good recommending what we like, but what does your dad usually enjoy? Perhaps then we can suggest something with a similar profile.

CASC close to the public for the monthly whisky club. If enough of us they might put something special on for us if its a week night when they are quieter.
I can start researching the distillery tours as well if you guys are serious?
I don't have a spare room but do have 2 big reclining chairs in the living room if that makes it cheaper and more do able?

As there's not much info to go with I would stick with something completely inoffensive and more universally appealing like, Glenfiddich 15 or Glenmorangie 10 or perhaps somethig from Jura.

I agree with VTG, there isnt much to go on. I'm not sure if money is something you are concerned about but it probably wouldn't be best to splash the cash on a fancy whisky. I'd stick to Lowland and Speyside malts if you don't know specifically what he likes. Some good whiskies which I?d recommend, and should be widely available, would include the following:

                      Dalwhinnie
                      Glenmorangie
                      Balvennie
                      Aberlour
                      Old Pulteney
                      Glenlivet
                      Auchentoshan

Also, if you were interested in saving cash, this thread might be useful:

Can't go wrong with Glenmorangie or Glenfiddich the distillers edition is fantastic as well available in asda on or around yuur budget.

Glenlivet is one of the least offensive whiskys I've come across as well [emoji4]

                            Whisky advice

Glenmorangie is lovely, the boring old 10 year old is really nice. I love the floral quality to it.
Glenlivet 14 is nice but I found it a little bit boring. I would be happy to drink it again but there's so much else to try.

EDIT it was the 15 year old not 14! And to be fair I would buy it if on an offer.
