  • Bolivar Super Corona 2014 LE

With all the talk about the new fat Cohiba I can't recall anyone talking about these and there isn't a review. Has anyone had one? What are they like? The price is certainly a lot more reasonable so I can't imagine no one has smoked one yet.

      Good point.

Of the three 2014 LE and the Larranaga RE the Bolivar is certainly the poor relation regarding our sales here. This is a real shame as it is a fantastic cigar and everyone who has smoked them here gives it a real thumbs up. I suspect Bolivar as a brand is always going to struggle in the UK by comparison with the heavyweight brands.

In the 1970's Bolivar was regarded as a 'Bookies cigar' - something you would see at the racetrack. It has never been a prestige brand - but it really does offer something different.
I'm sure there are greater things in life than a fine cigar ........... but right now I can't think what they might be.

I smoked one at JJ's before the Humour-dor, I found it a little harsh and young and didn't enjoy it too much, but I wouldn't write it off and would like to try another in six months' or a year's time before passing judgement

Bolivar is probably my favourite brand as well

Cheers Sean, like Robert said, it seems to have slipped by almost unnoticed.

Good stick. Had one yesterday. Gets harsh in a heartbeat but before that, it was enjoyably mild.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone hoping for a Bolivar Belicoso Ride but more for someone looking for those shorter Libertadores 2013s. The dark wrapper and annoying maduro feel still drives me mad. But they seem like an okay cigar - especially for the price, mind you.

PL is the RE for the UK

The ELs for 2014 are Boli, Cohiba and Partagas.
