  • Peshwar and Sydney attacks

With the recent terror attacks in Sydney and the horrific attack today in Pakistan , one does question what will happen next, a silent enemy prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice ,strike anywhere, and against civilian and infant targets, do you think it is time the west toughened up more? How is another question entirely but for how long do the civilised people of the world just wait and see where will be next !!

On that, the current threat has been extended to the police in the UK and the threat level is 'imminent'.

Not good times in all , the older of us on this forum will remember growing up in the troubles in the seventies early eighties bombings in London regular occurance , cold war and threat of third world war . But this seems a totally different scenario and a global problem. Should we be as ruthless as them ?????

Not easy questions to answer. Remember, they want retribution so they win if we react..... Yet we still lose if we turn the other cheek.....

That's a good question because the Israelis are and it doesn't seem to discourage them at all.

Haven't a clue we are and should be a civilised society , showing compassion and respect against our fellow man .
But how does a civilised society protect itself against an unseen enemy that doesn't stand up and let itself be known until the dreaded final moment .

You accept they are a lost cause.... Then you show their children so much love and compassion that within a generation you eradicate them from the face of the earth...... I'm not so soft as to think this will ever happen.

I'm glad you clarified that with your last point, I was beginning to worry that you'd swung too far to the middle.

Let’s rewind a couple a couple thousand years shall we? A Pilgrimage can be described as a Jihad. So, we, the civilised people and 'West' took a ride on some horses and raped if you were lucky, killed, tortured, massacred and pillaged our way through Europe all the way to Jerusalem. What was our (the civilised West) cry before battle? Well, one of many would be God wills it. A little like Allāhu Akbar. Priests were taken to bless our troops and ABSOLVED them of any sins...Sigh.

Let’s now fast forward a couple thousand years.....The difference being horse, shields and swords have been updated to modern times. We have used Arabs as pawns for years. We weaponised them and trained them, including our once USA and European friend Osama bin Laden.

Like most things to do with a God, no matter a mans colour or creed, it is ultimately about manipulation, control and corrupting logical and scientific advancements. This is just my opinion though.

Not many can think like someone who is prepared to give their life in order to succeed.

My advice? The 'terrorists' are already here. They have slowly but surely been groomed, and their day shall come. We are the most camera caught people on the planet. Couple that with our outstanding security services and you get a high success rate, in terms of minimal impact to non fanatisists (a word.. for somebody non fanatical?)..

Whilst people are in their bunkers, read the Quran. It is a beautiful book. You will then realise what the Mullahs are doing to it in regards to the above.

They can stop a 1000 attacks, but it only takes 1 to slip through the net. It is coming. Beat them? You cannot. It is about living your life without fear. Scared of something? Then learn thy enemy.

still not sure what your trying to get at here, the Sydney guy was a nut job on bail for murder and a string of other criminal acts, the Pakistan thing was the Taliban ? Are you suggesting that everyone from a particular background or religion be rounded up and shot or put in camps?

It will be almost impossible to end this problem, there is no way to win a fight with ideological (however tainted and twisted from the original) that is not based in one geographical point or people.

We will have to learn to be more aware and careful in our day to day lives.
