    • Just watched Rocketman, can?t say I?d recommend it.

      Thought it was going to be along the lines of bohemian rhapsody but they?ve turned all the songs into cheese musical style singalongs

        I really enjoyed Rocketman although I thought it missed out big chunks of his life and no mention of the Hornets.

          Yeah it was very selective on what it showed just a limited biopic of his rise fame and struggle with addiction really.

          Admittedly it?s not a bad film but I think my hopes were a bit high and west end style musicals really aren?t for me. Thought they were going to have him performing the songs not with his family out in the street doing them a cappella

          • I thought rocketman was good. I learnt a bit, laughed a bit and hummed a lot.

              Recently enjoyed ?The Driftless Area? from 2015 seen on Sony movies this Friday gone. It was reminiscent, I thought, of Twin Peaks which is my cup of tea as the saying goes.

              • Finally got round to watching John Wick 3 last week, would definitely recommend the entire John Wick series if you're late to the party

                    • Watched once upon a time in Hollywood last night which wasn?t for me either. Disappointing after really enjoying everything else he?s done.

                      If you are going to watch it read up about the details of the Sharon Tate murders beforehand it really is needed to get much out of it.

                        • I'm quite keen to see a film called Meet Mr Lucifer. An oldie from 1953 I think and being ahownnon Moving Pictures, a virgin channel and possibly others that I can't fathom, in the next week or so. Haven't seen it but it's recommended to me

                          • Final trailer for Joker is out, after an incredibly dull year for films this looks immense. Can?t wait to watch this, live Joaquin Phoenix particularly and you were never really here looks like it will set him up perfectly for this;

                            • I thoroughly enjoyed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The attention to period detail in the sets, costume, cars and culture was amazing. The Hollywood in jokes and film & TV references (not all of which I noticed I?m sure) and the all star cast made it a really enjoyable film for me.

                                For me beautifully shot and looks amazing Brad Pitt and a couple others really stood out but without an in depth knowledge of the back story it really fell flat and felt way too long and drawn out for my tastes. I normally love meandering stories with no real plot but this felt like it had nothing to say.

                                Always loved Tarantino so probably set my sights too high.

                                It?s a film about making films which basically guarantees an Oscar though!
