If by "Baileys" you mean Baileys Irish Creme, this may be the cause of your tasting issues. Becasue of it's creamy texture, it coats the tongue and palate, thus preventing you from enjoying the bounty of flavors found in fine puros.

    I could be wrong, however.

Sure, sure...you can use the splint, match, lighter and no-touchy method for lighting your fine puros (see 2009 thread on the 3-match method), but this is more of a ritual than necessity.

The last time I visited JJ Fox, the sommelier asked permission to light my puro and began to apply the torch to the entire foot of the stick, making sure it was evenly light before handing it over to me to enjoy.

Been lighting my puros this way since, except when using a soft-flame lilghter. Then I apply the "no-touch" roasting method.

      But that's just me.

I'm open to correction here, but start with the JL. I have always found them to be a nice mild smoke that wont throw any major curve balls at you taste wise

                  Holy balls that's expensive!!!

That stuff costs 15USD on our side of the pond. What is 15USD? Should be 11 quid?
