    It won't stay lit.
One draw every minute with something so skinny may not keep it lit. Problem with these skinnies (DTs, LGC No. 3s, ERdM GdE, etc) is that they sometimes require a lot of relighting. Shame on their end.

It's never an exact science. One draw every minute is not a safe baseline, either. Just keep smoking until you can get your own formula and you will establish a second sense for this.
Generally, the thinner the stick, the less cooldown it requires (common sense: bigger hot thing stays hot longer than a smaller hot thing). But this varies wildly with however the cigar is blended along with the storage conditions and age and a wild array of factors.
ON TOP OF IT ALL. What the hell is a puff anyways? Would you puff on a DT the same was as a Robusto? I sometimes take 2 or 4 consecutive puffs within 3 seconds with some cigars. Does that count as a puff? Everything is gauged in the moment.

I remember my first review on this forum (search up it!) where I mentioned a cooldown of 10 seconds. Got chewed out by the late Puff Scotty on puffing so often but it was just a guess. It'll be very hard to tell how long you're waiting before each puff. But you'll know when enough is enough or not enough.

Another personal story includes me smoking VERY good cigars. My last one was an OR (2003) Trinidad Robusto Extra. Terrible burn and seems to be lightly packed at the foot. I just kept going back for more and puffing extremely well. I couldn't stand my mouth to be devoid of such heavenly smoke. It was an absolutely FANTASTIC cigar. Then you can tell if you're puffing too quickly because the wrapper burns quicker than the filler and you're left with a sharp cigar when you tap the ash off.
Do I ever regret smoking that cigar too quickly? Nope. I just purge it once and continue on puffing the scents.

I don't have a formula for it. It's supposed to be natural and different for every cigar you smoke.

    Don't make a Clockwork Orange.

It's a strange one, it has to be something that's affected all the very different sticks. So to my mind that leaves humidity and user error.

From my experience of life, when user error is an option it's almost always the culprit. (No offence meant.)

It has to be down to the way your drawing from it..... IMO

It could be that with only one or two sticks in your humi, that they are I fact the only buffer for any humidity and they're too 'wet'.

Next time you buy a cigar or two etc, ask the tobacconist if they have an old box you can have. Cut it up into smaller pieces and put it in your humi to take up a bit of space and buffer the RH. They may have some little cedar blocks out of boxes which would be the ideal and look better. Just a thought.

Good luck buddy, don't give up. If nothing else make the effort to go to somewhere like JJ Fox or Dunhills where you can smoke a fine cigar indoors and you'll see why its worth it.

Smoking one straight from a tobacconist is a great option.

Im trying to keep to the one draw every minute as it does seem to improve the flavour. Only problem is I'm having to relight it after every draw... It won't stay lit. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.. It's been in a humidor with a boveda pack (69%) for a few days..
In another post I believe you said something about the puro being "soft," which is what I'm told ever night by me birds, but that's another story.

Based on that and other comments, I feel safe in saying you're having trouble keeping it light because it's overhumidified or, "too wet" as one of our missing mods likes to say.

At any rate, it take time, patience, and practice to master the art of enjoying a fine puro in various conditions. The one-minute rule is a broad guideline and should not be strictly observed for each stick.

Remember when you first started learning to drive a car, and you had no idea what was happening on the passengers side. Well eventually you develop a six-sense for knowing how close you are to the curb, people and other cars. Well, smoking fine puros is very similar. Your at the beginning of the learning curve. Eventually lighting, smoking and keeping it light will become second nature. I promise!
