New on the forum and to cigar smoking and thought I'd drop by and say hello.
Loved the smell of tobacco from a young age and the aroma of cigars when lit is second to none.
A recent holiday in the states and a chance stumble across a cigar rolling factory in New Orleans followed by a few stogies by the Mississippi saw me coming back with a couple of boxes and I haven't looked back.
Currently looking at my next holiday and I'm hoping it's going to be either Cuba or the Dominican Republic

        Welcome
        Three Laws are:
        1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
        2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
        3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I came back with two boxes of their own hand-rolled cigars. It was an un-educated purchase but at the time I knew b*llock all about cigars, blends or vitolas and plumbed for the ones I'd tried and liked while I was there. Bought a mixture of Maduro, Conneticut Shade and Cameroon wrappers in one box and panatellas rum and cognac flavoured and maduro wrappers in the other.
Seeing them made by hand was pretty amazing. The smell in there too was fantastic.

Well that's a good start Rob trying them first and learning about the different wrappers and tastes involved .

Smart move, I did the same with a box from the DR. Unlike local drinks they taste as just as good when you get them home. Welcome to the obsession.

It's been a real eye-opener. The trouble is, once you start researching the list of cigars you want to try just grows and grows!

                          Definitely!
Read your thread on your trip the Dominican Republic earlier (top-drawer by the way) as I might be heading out there on holiday. Was hoping to do a tour of one or more of the factories out there with a view to a few purchases.
