  • What are you watching (TV series edition)

I get through a lot of series when I'm offshore or have time off to kill. Currently been binge watching Sons of Anarchy, on to the penultimate episode of season 5. Highly recommend it. The second series revolves around a racist who owns a cigar ship.

Also appreciate any recommendations. I've seen and enjoyed the usual ones - Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, House of Cards etc. Ones I didn't enjoy or thought went downhill are Walking Dead, Dexter, Heroes. Tend to stick to the more Drama orientated ones rather than sci-fi n stuff. Gave Boardwalk Empire a try but it just didn't sit well with me for some reason, same with Mad Men.

Not watched many of them. Currently working thru Doctor Who. A lot better than I was expecting. As you lot I prefer to wait till a series has finished then watch the box set. I forget where I am upto otherwise

House of Cards is great. Can't wait for season 3. For me, I don't think anything will ever beat the Sopranos, I've watched it through 3 times. First season of True Detective was pretty special, but don't think it will have the staying power at the Sopranos had.

Nope, for me The Sopranos will always be a special programme, so well written and funny.

Sopranos will never be topped IMHO.
Lilly hammer is good if you liked sopranos. It has silv on it from sopranos
Ive just watched Marco Polo on Netflix that was good.
Dexter was a good programme upto series 4 then went down hill

I'm currently on the newest seasons of Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods.
Just finished the final season of Boardwalk Empire.
I also loved 24 and Sopranos. Really like The X-files too.
In the past I have watched Alias, which was OK.
I am also working my way through all the old A-Team series on Netflix.
I have season 2 of Ray Donovan still to watch on my Sky+.

Just finished Dexter and the US office, and Luther..currently watching Suits and SOA. Big box set fan; like Wigan said, prefer to let them all TX first then watch them as one.

Theres rumours of an X-files return, with original cast. They are working out there schedules to see if its possible.

I had read about that Bob. It will be interesting to see if it develops.

There is a new series starting at the end of this month called Fortitude which looks interesting.
I think I will be giving it a go.

I saw a promo for that last night.....I originally thought it was a holiday as, similar to the Hollywood tourism ones. But then it got sinister and looks good.

Doctor Who, I've never managed to get sick of Doctor Who. Splendid chap, all of him. Really enjoyed the first Peter Capaldi series, starting to feel a bit more like the classic serials with a modern edge.

Speaking of Peter Capaldi, have you watched The Thick of It?

Farscape is another classic and underated sci fi show. Once you get through the admittedly ropey first half of series one it really becomes one of the most compelling shows from the late 90s. Muppets and all.

                            Yeah, I'm a geek.

                              I'm a Doctor Who fan.
Isn't the first Capaldi series just on a mid season break?
I thought it was back early part of 2015.
