  • Budget Pipes

Let's keep this to pipes under ?45 that we own or have owned, it can be a good resource for the newer guys to scope out what has been good value and what hasn't.

I have a couple short (very short) reviews prepared that I Will post later.

Aldo Morelli 702, near the top end at ?42.50 but IMO the fit and finish at this price is extremely good. Close to pipes I have seen at getting on for twice the price.

It smokes beautifully and feels great in the hand. Highly recommended. There are others in the 7xx range with the same build quality.... Only the shape appears to be different.

I wouldn't hesitate to advise people on a budget to go out and get one of these as a main pipe.

BBB Ligtweight, only ?20 and has a pretty decent overall feel. This is a tiny pipe though so not great as a first pipe or an only pipe IMO.

I use this as a sampling pipe or when I only have a very short time, but at the price it's a great addition to a Pipe rotation.

Mysmokingshop Real Briar Smooth Churchwarden, again only ?20. This is also a rather small pipe but the finish isn't so great on this. The Briar is pretty thin making this surprisingly light.

As an introduction to Churchwardens to see if you like the style it's probably OK but I'm not sure how long this thing will last and how well it will age.

I use it for hotter burning Aromatics and it does cool them down in the mouth but can get hot in the hand. It's good enough that it's made me want a better Churchwarden but I wouldn't rush out to get another.

Reccomended if you want to try a long pipe on the cheap to try and make your mind up on the form factor. Other than that I would say spend your money elsewhere.
