  • Nice break from work, don't want to go back tomorrow :(

Well I have had a week holiday from work and spent three days of it in Brighton with the misses, to have a bargain mini break (hotel and travel coming to ?70 for 2 nights).

It may have not been the sunniest of destinations but we really enjoyed ourselves, the only small downside being getting a cold as soon as I packed up work and that was before we got sunny brighton!

Before we left I naturally checked to see if there were any cigar shops so during one of our days walking around we "stumbled" upon taylors cigar shop. I did mention to the misses how its funny we seem to do this no matter where we go home or abroad.

The shop had a decent selection of havanas and I went in thinking i would grab a robusto or maybe a piramides but looking at the cigars, the condition and look of the san cristobal el principe struck me. I have never had the brand before so I thought I would give it a try and smoke it when we got home when my cold had got better.

Well the day has come the last day before starting work, I cant smell or taste a thing but I was determined to get my smoke in . All i can say was the construction/draw was superb, i feel guilty that I cant really say whether or not I had enjoyed the taste but I enjoyed smoking it and I look forward to getting some more in to try in the summer.

Always good to have fun on a week off, going back to work is always crap!

I've worked 6 night week's for about 2 months solid just to bring the cash in, I'm totally dead all the time. The next holiday I've got is when we move house (I.E. not a holiday)

She who must be obeyed has now banned me from overtime this week because "you look like you'll collapse at any minute!"

      Oh the joys!

hi Manning, i often enjoy a break in Brighton, staying with family, i was there Tues and Wed & the wind was up & driving the rain horizontally till lunchtime then sunshine all afternoon. April a few years ago i woke up to snow!

Taylors, they have a walk in humidor in the back i recall, there's another shop with more NC nearer the station on Queens Rd.

You did well to travel and get accommodation for only seventy quid, off season bargain?

Did you walk up to the west pier, They're building http://www.brightoni360.co.uk/ right infront of it. I wonder it'll wobble in a gale!?

lol we were quite lucky with the weather (weds-sat) we had some drizzle but nothing that stopped us from doing what we wanted. as for the travel it was ?20 for return on the train from london bridge, ?30 for one night, we had a e voucher for a complaint we made last time lol and we stayed two nights.(travelodge) so we had a result there!

the brighton 360 i had heard of but didnt go that way, we walked up to the marina and back one morning which is the opposite direction i believe?

ah yes i did the same walk on Tuesday to see Birdman at the Cineworld. Theres a remake of Brighton Rock with a scary scene where Pinky gets spooked thats filmed along there. many years ago i went to a sort of festiva/rave right on the same spot, the Fay Boy Slim one, seems like a very long time ago now.
