Seen a lot of good things about AJ Fernandez recently. Anyone sampled any of the range?

    Cheers

Had a New World two nights ago.

I'm not a fan of the box press style, but the construction was flawless.

I wasn't impressed though. The flavour stayed the same throughout, like most NC's. However, the 'fullness' changed constantly which really annoyed me. One drag was smooth like silk, then the next was a harsh nicotine hit straight to the back of the throat. And I don't mean 1 inch, was mild, the next was harsh etc. Literally every draw I took seemed to be different than the last.

I've seen some reviews that loved that's what it done, apparently shows how good of a blend it is. Not for me though, unfortunately.

I like the san lotano range. Very strong though - it seems the American market demands strength over flavour and balance.

I like Enclave and New World, it s true that New World is full bodied, but I smoke lot of cigars so I have resistance :-)
From San Lotano I prefer Habano and Bull

I won't say the new world cigars are dominated by the strong and full bodied, yeas there is a large population of such, but the balance they have mastered well

Here it is from my Black Friday shopping called Legends by AJ Fernandez.
Absolutely stunning cigar top class construction, even burn, tons of good tobacco flavours, well cured leafs, pleasure all the way
            Recommend.

              I agree with you.

The Enclave and New World are both very good cigars, the Enclave in particular.

I would not say that either are full-bodied though, more like medium-to full, very rich, earthy notes - a very Nicaraguan flavour profile.

I had beautiful white ash on my Enclave and it burned immaculately.

Ive just picked up a sampler so looking forward to trying out the rest of their range. Just had the san lotano up til now. Hopefully the others have a bit of balance.

I got 5 New Worlds and had one so far. Absolutely loved it. Full of nutty and coffee flavours, never harsh. I am definitely looking to try more.

I noticed many times with NCs that they change dramatically with just a year or two on them. I often went for samplers, which sit on the shelfs a bit longer and when I went for a box they were really harsh. After a year or two they mellow out though and become very nice indeed. We have the impression of NCs to be ready to smoke from the shelf, but in my experience that's simply not the case. The might not need 5 years or longer like CC, but a year or two will do wonders.

Interesting. I have a few sitting that I wasn't too fond of, may go back to them in the summer.
