  • Scottish Smoking Areas

Now I am in Scotland. Can anyone recommend any places that are nice to sit for a smoke? I've seen Edinburgh has a few shops but no smoking areas?
I've just secured a place in Whitburn, so anywhere along the central belt will be handy.

Yeah, smoking isn't allowed in the shops in Scotland. It's really strict.

Best bet is a beer garden that I can think of. Either that or with a friend in a garden, some of the Aberdeen guys might be able to help a bit more, I only go home occasionally.

Couple of good areas in Aberdeen, the Soul Bar has an outside plastic sheeted 'shed' with flame heaters, I guess they'll switch them off soon but does give good protection from the cold as well as wind & rain. The Old School House has a covered area out front with some electric heaters, set a bit to high to be very effective. Can confirm Hotel de Vin in Glasgow excellent spot but they'll kick you out at 22:00 so arrive early.

          Thanks all.
It was a covered beer garden type thing I was after. Might give the hotel a try one night next week. I'm in Glasgow next tue to do my medical but it's early morning so I'll be needed back in the office

The place I'm renting has a nice garden with a little Wendy house that I'm going to convert into a smoking shed at some point. If anyone is driving through feel free to pop in, I should have PMs soon.

Yea. They had a good selection. The owners are called Orchant Cigars and he gets something called 'Seleccion Orchant'. Will see how the Punch compares to the standard.

So touchingly innocent. The owners are called C.GARS, and the second gold band denotes vitola which Mitchell Orchant, boss of C.GARS, has chosen for special ageing.
If you want to, you can.

Hotel Du Vin Edinburgh has an excellent cigar bothy. Also has an interesting evening planned next month https://www.hotelduvin.com/locations/edinburgh/events/
