  • Is there a right or wrong way?

Being an ex smoker and given up nearly 2 years on the fags, I enjoy a cigar now. But I keep reading that you shouldn't inhale a cigar. Now normally I don't but when I've had a few drinks I do tend to take a draw then exhale as normal but take a tiny bit down to get that felling in my throat if you get what I mean. Just looking on other forums and posts I seem to be the only one who does. Am I alone on this?

I've been off the fags for six years now. I started with cigars about ten months ago.
I have not taken a single puff back, and I have no intention of doing so. In fact, smoking
cigars has absolutely nailed the quitting smoking cigarettes for me.

Never been a smoker and dont consider myself one. I accidentally inhaled before and almost keeled over.

Don't get me wrong I don't inhale when I smoke a cigar but I tend to inhale some residual smoke left every now and then

I don't inhale at all, but I do retrohale nearly every draw.

As much as I try I just physically can't retrohale

I actually find it hard not to as once you start doing so I find it opens up so much/many more flavour/s from a cigar.

It's hard to explain but in short is where you draw the smoke in and take it to the back of your mouth, trapping it by lifting your tongue to the roof and then exhaling it through your nose.

You don't necessarily do it with the whole amount of smoke you draw in. I tend to let approx. half out though my mouth and then retrohale the rest.

The amount of smoke I retrohale varies from cigar to cigar and depends upon how smooth each cigar I'm smoking is.

                        Hope I'm making sense here??

I dislike retrohaling. I indeed find it painful and have never struggled for flavours without it.

The handful of times i have managed it didnt really think it offered anything of benefit.

I dislike retrohaling as well; it's never smooth enough that I enjoy it and the "aftertaste" reminds me of when I smoke cigarettes

                              LOL

it's an elaborate name for blowing smoke out your nose without inhaling it 1st

Like some I inhale small amounts in various ways including the Irish waterfall technique.

If the cigar is very strong it can knock me on my are though!
