  • New 2015 UK regional edition - Bolivar Belgravia

Those who went to the H&F anniversary party will have probably tried one of these already. Anyone got some feedback on the cigar?

'The cigar is named after the Belgrave Square, which contains a statue of Sim?n Bol?var with the quote, “I am convinced that England alone is capable of protecting the world’s precious rights as she is great, glorious and wise.”'

I've still got the two of them from the party sitting in the humi and will be trying the first at Christmas.

cgars lists them 'POA' so I expect they're horrendously expensive!

Launched next week I think, Wednesday probably. I also have the one from the party and another which I smoked last week. Not a huge banging cigar as I expected. Great size for me, same as the Wide Churchill which is a great size.
Still a young cigar so needs a little box time but I did enjoy it but the other one will rest in my humidor for 12 - 24 months.

I wondered if it was the same size as another cigar. Maybe some kind soul will organise a box split...

I can't see why it would be particularly expensive, it's a RE not a Reserva/Gran Reserva. Anyway, only a day or so to wait then we will find out...

It looks like a Wide churchill, except 1/8" shorter (3mm) same 55rg.

I would love to have the same view as you Nic, but unfortunately all of the UK RE's are ludicrously overpriced, the H&F 225 were a prime example, with retailers also taking advantage of the 'specialty' of such a cigar.......

But lets see we might be in for a surprise!

'POA' is because Hunters & Frankau have not released the price to retailers as yet and always do so at time of cigar releases.

Generally speaking most cigars are priced similarly according to the weight of the cigars as the largest cost is the UK Excise duty, then the VAT adds another 20%.

The Bolivar Belgravia is a speciality but there are 5000 boxes so I don't see how or why retailers would take advantage on price as it would make no sense.

                          Best

                          Mitchell
