I concure a burr grinder is better. For every day user I use an Andrew James filter machine with an integrated burr grinder. Makes a lovely brew. With regards to beans, it's very much personal taste. I'm lucky enough to have a small coffee and tea murchant near by, so everything is fresh and unbranded. My favourite bean is Jamaican Blue Mountain, smooth with a lovely flavour; but it's very expensive - ?50 plus for 500g so its an occasional treat bought but the 100g. In general I tend drink either a Costa Rican or Kenyan Blue Mountain bean. With regards to espresso I like a darker roast Arabica bean, although Levazza make a lovely espresso coffee. But try different blends until you find something you like.

Tommy, I've got the duo version of this machine (makes filter as well). The espresso is by no means top of the range but we've had ours for several years now and it makes perfectly good coffee. You could do much much worse for ?25

So I'm just after any advice on flavours or blends to try.

Cheers
I don't think you can go wrong with a freshly ground Cuban or Jamaican coffee with any of your favourite cigars, Brew ,light up,sit back, relax and ENJOY!!!

Coffee

Evening all. Coming back to this post I have now finally got a decent espresso machine. I went for the Delonghi Scultura which has great reviews on pretty much every website. Now I'm after a website where I can order a selection of different beans, like a selection box so I can try deferent blends. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Hasbean. Have bought from them for years. If you drop them an email and tell them you're a coffee noob and that you'll be pairing with a cigar then they'll send you a list of recomendations. Really lovely folk who live and breath coffee!

Sligub Never heard of rave. Will give them a try.

TT if you want to try a selection of beans then Monmouth will sell you beans in multiples of 10grams which is a great way to do a tasting session to see what you like.

I can't see how you can order online. Do they deliver or do I have to collect?

Sorry Tommy, should have added that you can only buy like that from their shops. The big one up at borough market is well worth a visit. If you're up that way let me know - maybe a coffee/herf/beer could be arranged?
