I know Cigars are sorted by colour and then placed into their boxes so that the entire box is the same colour. Different boxes will have different colours. Is it true you should never see different colours in the same box. That is the whole reason that they are sorted when boxed.

Now, I know very little about this other than my own observation of the vast number of boxes in don TJ's humidor. I've seen several boxes of the same cigar that varied greatly in color from box to box, but within each box, the cigars appear to be arranged from lightest shade to darkest, left to right.

So, based on my personal observations of multiple boxes, you will likely see different "shades" in the same box, but not dramatically different colors.

funny you've asked this question i was searching through the forum about Box codes and came across this from Stevieboy for a few years back http://www.ukcigarforums.com/showthr...778#post278778

but you are right from what i've read and seen in theory you shouldn't see a dramatic change in wrapper colours in the same box, however this could happen in the same box of Tubos.

However the wrapper colours could change per box, i remember when i first joined someone post a picture of two boxes they bought with the same age, but the wrappers were very different.. Can't remember who posted it and what cigars they where though.

I think so too, SHAMZ84. TBH, I didn't notice it until I read about it in the archives. When I checked it out, it turned out to be true.

Like I've said before, the amount of stuff there is to learn/know about cigars is MIND BOGGLING!

Would the cigars smoke the same, especially if one batch is a much lighter shade or colorado color while the other is dark brown, regardless of the brand and guage.

It should be the same leaf but a slightly different shade so I would think so

Does the colour of the wrapper affect the taste? I've read conflicting things about this around the web

Colorado Claro or Rosado would be my fav. An article you might find interesting with an example of each shade.

Maybe time for another poll to see if members like their cigars claro or Rosado I prefer mine on the darker side.
