Had the pleasure to try this in the prince of wales in Moseley a while ago and thought it was fanstastic

This is one of my favourite rums, always a 'goto' when I fancy a drink.

Very much my thoughts. It's the only bottle I've re-purchased this year. A good every-day sort of rum and at ?34 a bottle won't break the bank.

Is this a dark rum? Is that thought better with a cigar?

Technically a dark golden rum apparently. It goes nicely with a cigar on the few occasions I've paired them.

Thanks; I'll give it a try.

It's rather sweet, but goes great with a strong cigar. I bought a bottle before Christmas and ended up drinking way too much of it...

Sounds a good pairing with my favourite BBF then.

I gave my mother in law some of this at Christmas. She hated it because shes used to white rum like wray and nephew being from Jamaica.

If you want to wake up in a dumpster not knowing what your name is i thoroughly recommend wray and nephew. A nice smooth 62pc

Haha, yes, “Uncle Wray”. The reason it has taken me so long to get into rum is due to the Jamaican side of my family who would always encourage me to drink rum punch made with Wray and Nephew that could easily fuel a trip to the moon.

I just bought a bottle of Appleton’s 21 Year Old Jamaican Rum, which is hands down the best rum I’ve ever tasted. Faith in Jamaican rum restored!

Theres another one at 63 percent called rumbar. Just as strong and twice the hangover. Not sure if you can buy it here. Not that id want to.

The christmas cake they made had a whole bottle of wray and nephew this year. Half during cooking and half a bottle after cooking, so the alcohol remains and doesnt evaporate. You can imagine how strong that was... It wasn't even a big cake.

Id have to say i prefer zacapa 23 over diplomatico however.

Sounds like it was made the traditional way, fantastic stuff and very moist!
