I'm sure many of you will have seen the recent images of the up and coming new Cohiba addition... looks to be a cracker!

It looks like a really smart potential winter smoke. I say potential as we've no idea when it will reach us!!!

    Anyone heard anything more?

Not sure how these passed me by. They look good (especially the dinky tubos); they might taste good; but ?17 a pop? Noooo. Unless someone else is buying, I'll stick to a HUHC or even Monte Media Corona (and I think even they're a bit pricy compared to a #5, speaking as a fan of both)

                No kidding! :-\

It seems I have to visit the Cypriot branch of the clan at some point in the next twelve months - so I'll cross my fingers, hit the Paphos LCDH and see if I can treat myself.

I almost hope they're not Aphrodite's answer to the perfect smoke, as they seem on first impression to be not a great value size/price wise. This is obviously a hugely variable thing, but I learnt a thing or two from Didi at Amsterdam LCDH, particularly regarding the smaller format HdM Hoyos.

What did you learn? That they wer good / bad/ offer great value/ poor value?

That in the group line, the depute is the sweet spot for quality/flavour/price. On the small end of the family too. The tiny one below it, particularly poor value (being essentially a pricey cigarillo). Some of the larger format get close to the depute as the per unit price increases moving up get shallower But overall, except money-no-object taste considerations, HdM seem to reserve their better value work for the epicures.

Cigars are vegetarian, we should all remember that. We're *being* healthy!

No problem. I took the master's advice and bought a couple of deputes as quality short winter smokes, then a 3-pack of Epicure #2s.
