Whisky - how do you like it?

Neat in a tumbler or with the tiniest amount of water.

My go to at the moment is Glendronach 12, great value and superb whisky, if you like sherry it?s well worth trying. The 18 and 21 are obviously amazing, but the 12 is definitely what sits in my (non-lead crystal) decanter and gets topped up as soon as it?s finished.

Plantation XO is in my ships decanter for non relevant info, but it?s also my staple, only neat with rum though.

What makes all the difference is a nice glass in my opinion. Well worth an investment!

Aberlour abunadh is my favourite scotch. Used to be about ?45 for a bottle which at 59% abv isn't bad (if you dilute it). They recently increased the price to ?80 a bottle which is a piss take. Snagged one for ?60 on Prime day last week, along with a new (as of 2018 I think) offering of theirs - the casg annamh screen right - a rich, Sherry finished number, 48% and cheaper than the abunadh at ?49 or so (?40 on Prime day). The 12 on the left is useless.

So I think I've found my goldilocks staple now.

Totally agree....don't under stand how the price had gone up so much in the space of a few years.

I think it was last prime day sale ended up with 3 bottles for the price of one because they kept sending me the wrong batch [emoji16]

Well I just complained that they were adverting for batch 58 and I got batch 59...didn't expect them to say keep the bottle and we will send you another one...I ended up getting batch 58, 59 and 60 hahah

My dad gave me a couple of drams of the Aberlour 12 unchill filtered at the weekend. 48% abv. It was excellent. Well worth buying a bottle.

It is different to the standard 12, much better. More expensive as well but worth paying extra for.

Ive had this bottle for at least 10 years and only at the top of the bottom label. i do like it but have to really be in the mood - wife says it smells like hospital disinfectant!

I started with Speyside years ago - but it's just to sweet. It's more of a dessert whiskey for me and I have one on the odd occasion.

I agree that it smells like hospital disinfectant, but it tastes like nectar of the gods. It's amazing!
