  • Can my collection be saved/sold?

    Hi all,

2011-2012 I was quite active here and built up a nice little collection. At the end of 2012 I stopped smoking for a few reasons and have just never started again. I've kept my little selection sealed in my humidor but admittedly have not kept the humidifier topped up with distilled water all the time. So that's 4 years these cigars have been in the humidor with extended periods of time without any humidification.

I topped the humidifier up a few days ago and the cigars actually feel fine now, (springy round the band etc..) and there's no notable wear on them, except a little bit of plume which I supposed is desirable.

So, is my collection still smokable, or would they have been ruined? There's a good smokes in there, so if they are OK I'll be looking to send them to a new home.

I could but just don't feel like it. Long story.

Anyway, I'll put them up for sale and will do a refund or something if they turn out not to be good. Cheers.

Put an itemised list up of what you have and how much you wish to get

Aye, do what Oskihen suggests. It looks like a varied selection, I'm sure folk will be interested.

Shame tripz, especially about the Sig which is tubed. Unfortunately, you won't be able to sell them on here as you have no access to that part of the forum. However, thanks for being upfront about the condition. Perhaps pop them on Gumtree or the like

Beat me to the obvious problem there CJ. I would suggest putting them on ebay for on day only. Let us know which day & z
Some brave souls can take a punt. I wouldn't personnaly & I wouldn't expect too much for them. I would list them as humidor, with contents - for collectors only as un-humidified for last 4yrs. No returns. Then you have been above board & there will be no room for complaint. Good luck & I respect your personal reasons for giving up, none of us knows if we'll still be smoking in a few yrs time.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll list up what's in there later on. To be honest I'd rather send them to somewhere here for free, for them to check them, then send me whatever they think is fair.

You will not be OK to advertise them on here, even for trade, due to the reasons above, sorry.

Not a problem. Could I post up what the collection contains on here for some suggestions on the price I should list them on Gumtree?

                      Thanks

The thing is, and I don't want to appear a w*anker, is that once we start having posts where people have collections valued and the like, it can slip or set an unwanted precedence. The forum hasn't gone that way , or members entered into that area previously and perhaps not now please.

It can't be that hard to work out tripz, can it? I'd say pop on the 'net and gauge the price against what the cigars cost to start with[emoji4]
