Exactly; I have found that it's not the nicotine that's addictive, just the cigars...and the endless quest to try the next vitola and make; all the while trying to age some of the sticks...
PeeJay 's quote hits the nail on the head for me: 'Cigars are a hobby, cigarettes an addiction'!

Only the impossible is worth the effort.

It's an airtight seal, I find that with the scuba box 3/4 full, 4 Boveda pouches last for about 4 months, depending on how often you open it.

Hey Dylan i am currently running a small scubar box using 8 boveda packs with about 14 boxes of cigars inside with room to squeez another 4! I also like to keep a few pieces of ceder in there to give a nice humidor smell.

Scuba boxes are a very space sufficient way of storing cigars and are excellent at doing so as plastic dosnt seep unlike wood..........in a fair few cases ive found these boxes to age and maintain cigars much better then some very high end cigar merchants even........

just an important side note for you.............hose your box down inside out, dry it then leave in your back garden with the lid off for 24 hours to completly air out.....you dont want that factory plastic smell to infuse into you cigars

Below are some pictures of my setup to give you some ideas, ive managed to store a very good amount of boxes with room left.........gonna look to upgrade to the bigger version now i have a sufficient amount of boxes

              Cheers

Afternoon everyone. Hope it's alright to bump this thread, and I hope everyone has had success with their coolidors. I was just wondering what, if any, the drawbacks are? I'm thinking of getting the scuba box, sticking a few bits of cedar in it, and then stocking up with boxes for ageing. Is this any worse than doing it in a 'proper' humidor, and how often would I need to open/air the coolidor, and rotate the cigar boxes? Also, how important is temperature, and is it worth spending more on a wineador in order to avoid the odd day when the temperature in the UK is too high?

Hope that isn't too many questions. Thanks in advance.

A sealed box is a sealed box regardless of whether it?s Tupperware, a scuba or a specifically made humidor. Cigars should age exactly the same way regardless, only real drawback for me of the scuba is having it all in one tub from an access point of view compared to nice and organised on shelves and the visual look of an organised humidor.

I wouldn?t bother putting any cedar into a scuba box either the boxes will be cedar anyway. Also wouldn?t worry about temperature unless you?re storing the box somewhere with real variances of temperature anywhere comfortable temperature wise to be living in for yourself will be absolutely fine.

                  IMHO anyway!
