  • BHK & Siglo VI - Would you freeze them?

Just back from Cuba and always had the intention of a box of Siglo VI, in addition I promised myself that if I was lucky enough to come across any BHK I'd buy as many as I could afford.

LCDH in Cayo Guillermero only had 2 x 10 boxes of the Siglo, 1 x full box of BHK52 and a part box, all of which are currently resting before going into the humi.

Now I consider myself lucky to have found these and can't decide if I should freeze them, would you?

Yes. Because if you dont and the temperature creeps up you risk beetles.

Definitely, anything direct from Cuba needs freezing.

Wrap them in cling film and put them in a zip lock bag, 3 days in the fridge, 3 days in the freezer then anther 3 days in the fridge. The cigars shouldn't suffrage any side effects.

Plenty of other threads on this subject, basically all Habanos for export are frozen but not those sold on the island. If you can't freeze immediately then isolate from your other stock or they could become affected as well.
PS well done on finding some Behike 52's in Cuba, none around in Havana in Jan, when I was there.

As above, definitely freeze! Would be nothing worse than stocking up on choice sticks like those only to get beetles!
