I don't smoke in my house or car so it's sat in the garden in summer or walking the dog. A churchill is my preferred smaoks. Lasts about 1 1/2 -2hrs depending on my mood and if I'm with anyone.

I agree with potpest about DC being the best size.

I?ve done comparisons smoking Churchill & DC back to back from the same vitolas (Punch and HdM so far) and the DC wins every time.

Unfortunately I only get the time and conditions to smoke them when on holiday.

The rest of the time I?ll pick based on what I?ve got time for.

A robusto takese about 45min, sometimes a bit longer. As I rarely smoke more than 1 a day, all those short and thin formats just make me long for another one.

Toro is my ideal size, followed by a Churchill.

If I'm looking for a longer smoke the for me it's either a lonsdale or a Monarch.

I think i am a really slow smoker!
Robusto tend to take me 90 mins, and DCs take about 2.5 - 3 hours...
I have quite a few DC's, but due to my slow smoking ways i tend to stick with a robusto/Coronas Gordas in the week, and smoke a larger smoke at the weekend.

I agree on the lonsdale being the best size. Perfect ring guage and length. I find longer sticks tend to take a while to get going with more muted flavours in the first inch or two of a dc.

Unfortunately not many ncs come in the size. You tend to have to go for the coronas to get the same ring guage. Plus all the cubans are being discontinued. How i wish id bought more gold medals when they were available!

I've only had one Lonsdale and that was recently at the Xmas herf which was very enjoyable....just found it needed a lot or relights but not sure if that was because we were talking too much and took my time...but it was a enjoyable size cigar...will have to try some more Lonsdale...seems like the popular preferred smoke.

I've only smoked one DC, that was a Bolivar CG. I've got a few more of similar size ageing nicely, including a Lusitania and RA gigantes, for when I've got the time and setting to enjoy them to the max.

Typically in summer I'll comfortably smoke a robusto within an hour, but can easily stretch a RASCC or similar size to this time as well.

The problem with a two hour stick is that whilst its good for when you're in company it can become a bit tedious if that is all you are doing.

Horsebox, sorry but it sounds like you haven't had a DC, the Boli CG is A Julieta No2 - Churchill. The only Boli DC was a ER2007 & a rare beast these days.

The real question here is how many (if any) relights did this require?!

I've not smoked a DC or anything quite that big to date. I have had some 3 or 4 cigar days during the summer while doing something like lighting the BBQ. But these are usually around PC/Robusto size usually. Which I factor just under an hour to get through a Robusto or PC.

Anything more like a lonsdale 90mins ish.

My preference is a corona size. Perfect length and RG. Although I dont often get the time for these either....

The longer the smoke the more chillout. Which sways the whole session anyways
                            .--
I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Hi WD, good question & something I always wonder when someone says they can make a robusto last 90mins or a DC 4hrs (yes they are out there). No relights were necessary on the 3hr 5 stick, I did correct the burn a couple of times but that was it. I hardly put it down & wasn't trying to draw it out, in fact I was under a bit of pressure near the end as the wife was due home I was supposed collecting the dinner on the way back from the caf?! I actually timed the smoke ( I thought my previous one had take 3hrs but I wasn't sure anymore) & took a pic every 15min; yes I know but it was a one off & there part of my cigar photographic library of 6k+ now.
