Well after two cold nights with no power at home, today brought salvation! Celebrated with a wee HUHC, whilst contemplating how fortunate a life I have that I have a roof over my head, warmth, food, and relative security. I think it?s easy to forget how soft our nests are compared to a lot of folks.

I can imagine. I had to spent a few winter days without heating once because the fuel delivery was late and it was hell. Luckily I still had electricity.

Having lived for two years in a village where there was no running water and a max of 3 hours electricity a night if the generator was working (if it wasn't it was my fault) and on average one flight every 6 weeks or so with mail (assuming the airstrip was cut - also my responsibility to organise) I'm constantly grateful for what we have that we often take to be a human right! That said we were well equipped with rain water collection and water filters for drinking water, kerosene fridges for keeping food in and good old Tilley lamps for light.

Pahaha. U guys sounding like my parents! 'we never had electricity or fridges in the villages. When we were kids we used to steal apples or carob pods from the orchards and try not to get bitten by the snakes...'

Try to always keep a thought how close by poverty is in this madness.

It was temporary Greg. Character building [emoji16] Resets the baseline.

Be good to yourselves, and each other.

Exactly my point, I am fortunate it was temporary, when many people in this country alone lack heat, food, or even a roof over their heads. It’s certiably humbling to be reminded how lucky I am to have easy access to all three (never mind a couple of cigars...)

i meqn could YOU imagine your life without your precious hygrometer collection? I know, I know! Devastating!

Now let me go and fetch a mop for those tears...
