It would be possible I guess to make up a box that would fit between the fixed shelves with slips in to take the trays. perhaps send me a few photos and maybe some dimensions.

That is a nice idea having something separate that can be removed entirely. I think the problem is that the frame of the cab is narrower than the inside so the sides of the box would need to be very thin to ensure it all fits. Maybe not a whole box but two separate pieces that go on each side with a wider base to be freestanding?
      Dimensions are
      Trays 516mmx316mmx45mm
Width of door 525mm including the hinges. About 530 excluding.
Gap between fixed shelves 203mm with lip on shelf.

I've considered converting an old corner display cabinet into a humidor. Line with Cedar and change the hinges. I'm sure it's been done before.

Will do thanks Peejay. I studied furniture design many years ago so would be nice to put those skills to test!

Hey 7Kingsguy great looking Cabinet! how does the ceder wood smell? is it quite strong and pungent? I have desktop cabinet i bought from this brand and it come with more poly ceder, as opposed to popper Spanish ceder, however the quality of trays and ceder look far better on this cabinet, then in there standard desk top units.

Im no expert on wood. No idea what poly cedar is! Certainly smells strongly of humidor is all i know. Quality looks pretty good to me and its holding humidity well with the seasoning.

Poly ceder is the strain of ceder which they use to produce cigar boxes with, mostly all Cabinet boxes and Semi Bolt Nature style. Its still of a decent quality, but just doesn't carry that smell of traditional Spanish ceder. However im starting to think i didn't order my cabinet from this brand at all in fact, as there quality looks far better then what i have. Let us know how you get on man with some pics as well

Humidor is up and running now with everything in there. Seems to be holding humidity ok but with the oasis and boveda it should be.

Still want to add some drawers at some stage as theres a lot of wasted space at the minute. Thats my only real criticism of the unit. Have about 600 sticks i think at the mo.

The cedar used for lining humidors commonly known as Spanish Cedar is the species Cedrela Odorata. There is no 'strain' of Cedar, afaik, called Poly Cedar. The only thing I can think it could be referring to would be a polyurethane finish on Cedar which would seal the Cedar and in the case of Spanish Cedar would defeat the object of using it if used on the outer face. In the humidor I'm making, I have lacquered the back of the cedar boards lining the humidor to help maintain the humidity. No idea what you mean by 'semi bolt nature style'.
