Good to know. I discovered CrossFit 5 years ago now. Only just getting my diet in check though.

    Thanks.

I was fit at the time.... Booze and bad diet was my issue... I had previously been exceptionally fit (semipro rugby player). Good news i moved the dial back- cutting down booze, and taking milk thistle were the major changes .... I didnt change diet then for some dumb reason! Now (20 years on) i am too fat but my liver isnt!!

        Good work all!

I'm also trying to lean up a bit for summer. I've always kept up with the weight training so am quite a big guy - need to be leaner in summer just to stay cool!

Someone mentioned fasting - I always find it helps. Don't bother with 5:2, but I do have an eating window. Also helps that I don't mind eating the same meals for a whole week so a lot less thinking!

Haha! Funny you mention fasting, because today is Ray Jay’s so-called “fast” day, so I try to stay away. But to call it a true fast is a bit misleading. On his “fast” days (Sundays and Wednesdays) he limits his calorie intake to around 500 calories and the other days he eats normally.

According to Ray Jay, the best thing about the 5:2 diet, as opposed to other diets that tell you what to eat or even provide the food for you (Jenny Craig), Ray Jay determines what to eat on his own, with a little help from Catalina Joy , of course.

So once he reaches his goal weight, he simply stops fasting. He doesn’t have to “re-learn” what he can and can’t eat because he’s been doing it all along. And if he gains a few pounds along the way, such as on holdiay, he just starts fasting again two days a week until he looses the excess weight. Simple.

            Correction: Post No. 1.

I made a mistake in post one concerning the weight RJ lost in a year. I originally said it was 50kgs, but Ray Jay just told me it was only 25kgs. Lo Siento, amigos....lo seinto.

25kg in a year would be great! 9kg in 4 months so far... I've a way to go yet.

Was talking with one of the ladies from the gym about weight loss. She used to be a fitness bikini model [emoji44] she was explaining how even on a diet that contained some carbs, on a very low calorie diet your body will still go into ketosis.

I'm not on that low calorie, not carb, but I am thinking about insulin sensitivity. Eating most things, just watch the sugars and smaller portions. And no late snacking! Go to bed instead!

Well, went to the doc today and I weigh 93 kilos. It seems that I lost quite a bit of weight. The problem is that I'm still fat and I probably won't get rid of it without some form of sport.

Movement/Resistance Training/Intensity it all helps. But diet is the main factor.

I'm now at 88kg and my fatty liver scan is tomorrow Lets see what they say!

Consistency in the diet department and introduce some sport/exercise you might even enjoy it

                        Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I started cycling to work again but I doubt that I'll be doing anything more than that.

Exercise is boring unfortunately, I can never be motivated to keep it up

After weight training. I've now got the CrossFit bug. It's a good mix and we've a decent box. Good lot.

Yesterday I sprint flat out 1300m. Ok not all in one go. Death by sprints in pairs. Today I'm suffering stiff legs, even my back and core. Already something new.

I like to push myself to the edge of my fitness, strength etc.

I used to run three miles a day but a sciatic nerve injury put paid to that, walked with a limp for a year. Now its my exercise bike when I feel motivated.
