Lunch time at work today I smoked this little Undercrown maduro from Scooby which wasn't as nice as his generosity. It was quite harsh with none of the natural sweetness I'd expect from a maduro and burned very fast although it wasn't dry.

I?m smoking the same as gojira and I have to concur, bloody delicious smoke. Its like I?m smoking a cup of fine coffee, hints of dark chocolate and plenty of creaminess. Also some dried fruit in there, raisins and a hint of almond. Not much spice at the moment but there is a hell of a lot of smoke, considerably more than the HDM DC and the SCdlH El Morro. Ranking wise, it?s really tricky as I?m not an ?experienced? smoker and appreciating all the nuances different cigars bring however, the burn on this has been disappointing - as we speak it?s got a serious jagged edge on it which unfortunately is relegating it to last place. If it was on par with the others burn wise, I think the flavour profile is my favourite thus far and therefore would be top of the pile. That said, none have been ?perfect? from a burn perspective.

1. HDM DC
1. SCdlH El Morro
2. VR Don Alejandro

It?s a real shame that the VR is to be discontinued if I?m not mistaken?

Very nice review.

Yes it sadly has been discontinued last year but can still be found. I purchased a few earlier this year and have some stock but I wouldn't mind to add a few more to my stash.

Thanks very much. Did you experience any burn issues with yours? I imagine the less than perfect burn is characteristic of long cigars as they?d be a lot tricker to roll?

The one that I had had a perfect burn until the end. The DC is a vitola that I have just gotten into recently and I haven't encountered any burn issues with them so far.

Custom Roll Lonsdale, a genuinely brilliant cigar.

How young is young Mike? I have 15 of these after splitting 10 from my box with Simon Bolivar.

Mine are June 16 and I was going to let them rest but if they?re smoking well I?ll see about lighting one up on Monday.

Mine are all from OCT 16. You should try one now, I'm really impressed at how nice a smoke it was. Then again it might be older since I purchase a few singles on top of my box and the singles came from an OCT 16 box. Who knows maybe they refilled the box with some sticks from an older one.

The DC is on the menu tomorrow for me so interested to hear your thoughts.

As for your little girl, not much more to say than ?awesome?. I hope mine will enjoy one with me when she?s that age (she?s only 19 months!).

If they are that young and you enjoy them they must be good! That’s more than enough reason for me to give one a go. I don’t think I’ll have time tomorrow so I will probably smoke something smaller but Monday hopefully
