  • Which stick will get the axe this year?

As the title says. The discontinued list should be "released" soon.

As mentioned on here, some think that the Mag 46 will be deleted. I'm not to sure about that since they discontinued the HUPC last year.

I read somewhere else that the RA Gigantes will be on the list this year.

I personally think that the BBF in slide boxes will soon be gone.

So which one do you think will be marched up to the guillotine this year?

Either of those would be ridiculous. Maybe LGC will get withdrawn as a brand since they only have one (skinny) regular production cigar?

Could be, the No.4 hasn't been available in France for a few years now.

Then again, my brother is the buyer for a very large store in Germany and he asked 5th Avenue about the LGC No.4 a couple of years ago because I told him that the French distributor had stopped carrying them. We both were afraid that the No.4 would be discontinued. One of the higher ups at 5th Avenue told him that Habanos SA would never kill a brand and thus leave at least one regular production stick untouched.

Preferably something I’ll never buy or wouldn’t miss... Linea 1935 range perhaps

But realistically it will likely be more smaller ring gauge cigars and anything in 50 cabs.

There is a reason related to copyright to keep a single cigar in the brands catalogue I believe. Because of this I’m not worried for the LGC mdo4, I hope this is true anyway because they are a wonderful smoke.

Yes, I love them as well. I purchased a few boxes in fear of them being discontinued. But I'm pretty sure that they won't be. Anyways I will have quite a few aged No.4s in a few years, lol.

After hirochi started a non Cuban line of cigars ... it would not suprise me to see the entire robaina line deleted in the next few years .

hsa can make you and hsa can disappear you ... in the cigar world .

I wonder if false rumours are spread to help increase sales of certain cigars.

I agree with you. But this would more likely seem like an act of vengeance from HSA.

Only 2 regular production cigars left and the last RE is from 2015. Maybe the Famosos will get the axe this year.....

I don?t think we will see any Marca discontinued completely, they will want to keep the names in use. Double corona and Churchill sizes are just not very popular, RA Gigantes could well go. Sancho panza non plus could go. 50 cabs of RASS wouldn?t surprise me if they were dropped as well.

Are 'we' perhaps to blame in part for not purchasing certain sticks/quantities as frequently as HSA would deem acceptable?

Absolutely ... lack of sales (along with other things) is a sure way to oblivion .

Think about it from a business point of view. Why sell boxes of 25 normal cigars when people will pay double or more for 'special' cigars.

Absolutely. I think social media is probably a main contributor to this fad as well. Some of the guys on Instagram and Facebook will happily pay through the nose to be the first to show a new LE box or buy them in bulk to pile up for a photograph.
