I can?t really speak to the best prices in the UK, but tread lightly when discussing non-UK vendors. It tends to draw the ire of a few so-called ?Modulators.?

Ah OK. Sorry, didn't know that. I assume sponsors for this forums are uk online shops? Fair enough.

Yep, the sponsor is safe and you can happily talk about any UK based online sellers and about anything you buy abroad - or even online so long as you don't discuss the source.

Welcome to the forum. I’m not in the slightest bit qualified to speak about the non Cubans on your list but Hoyo Petit Robusto and H Upmann Half Corona are fine choices.

Thanks buddy. The person who gave me a couple of Quintero Favoritas to try has advised against ordering H Upmann Half Corona - he said he tried these once but it apparently stank the room he smoked in for two days? Maybe he just got a bad batch?

The last 3rd in Quintero Favoritas was the best tobacco experience I've ever had! Before I would just smoke La Paz dry cured chepos and the occasional meharis...lol
Definitely ordering a pack of Favoritas.

Any cigar will stink out a room for a couple of days, it gets into the soft furnishings. The H Upmann Half Corona can be a good smoke especially with some age on it, ignore him or sign him up.

                    Welcome to the forum.

There's nothing wrong with the Quintero you mentioned, but they are short filler cigars. You'll see a noticeable difference in your experience once you try a long filler like the Hoyo Petit Robusto or Upmann Half Corona. Can't really go wrong with a Trinidad Reyes either (as I alluded to in your post in another thread) as they smoke well young (you will likely be getting new stock from somewhere like CGars).

Thanks for the info. Roughly how long do you have to age minimum before cigars like Hoyo petit and Upman Half Corona start to taste a bit better? Thanks.

                        Welcome buddy.

Aging is down to personal preference. All cigars are 'good' to smoke asap, but depends of the type of cigar and your taste. This is where the hobby becomes interesting.

Welcome to the forum. Your question is very subjective as we all have different tastes. Personally I only tend to smoke cigars with at least a couple of years age on them but this hobby is all about exploring what you enjoy - if it turns out to be Guantanamera rather than Cohiba then you'll be quids in!

Good question. As others have said, it's down to personal preference. A couple of years usually brings a marked improvement. For me, 5 years is optimum. The problem with buying from CGars is that you won't know the age of the cigars unless you buy a full box. If your stick around long enough to get PMs, that will open up a whole world of aged cigars for you at a fraction of the price that CGars offer them for.

If you're just buying a couple of singles, try to let them rest in your humidor for a couple of weeks before smoking (or buy an extra one if you're impatient!)

Yeah, I'll be ordering 3 of each at least. No way I've got patience of more than a few weeks lol. How long do I have to wait before I get PMs? I think I know what you mean by that (people on here selling old unwanted stock via pms?).

Also, do boveda packs have to be placed on bottom with cigars on top or on top of the cigars?

                              Thanks again!

Boveda placement is up to you. I put mine on top.

PMs are usually awarded after 3 months of posting and at least 100 posts, though this is at the discretion of the site owner. There is no set criteria, but I assume the quality and frequency of posts is considered.

Not so much old unwanted stock, but boxes split or sold at cost. We don't sell for profit like retailers. PM privileges get you access to the split and sale area of the forum.

There is a thread somewhere about cigars that smoke well young, might be worth searching for that if you want to get stuck in straight away.
