  • Do all cigars taste the best in the last third?

This is the cheapest stick I've got. Just finished smoking it. like the Quintero Favoritas, it smoked the best in the last 3rd. Is this a pattern? I've only smoked This one and the Favoritas so far....i'ts a Don Tomas honduras Rothschild

If you look back there was a thread on this topic recently

Don’t pay attention to the old farts around these here parts, chico. Just about EVERY new topic discussed around these parts can be found in the dusty old UKCF archives.

So let me see if I can be of help with your inquiry. The answer is...no.

      Hope this helps.

I’m in the last third fan club too, I think we are in the minority though if that thread that PeeJay mentioned is anything to go by. Nice ash tray too.

NOT for me since most of my stock is less than 2 years old. The odd new one + the few oldies I’ve got do however - I guess it’s very subjective though.

Its all subjective of course, but I often find that the final third is best. Although I think it was Zino Davidoff who said that one should never smoke past the halfway point of a cigar

I remember reading that and thinking that’s the way to do it when I was new to cigars, no disrespect to Zino but that is crazy advice or at least just no longer applicable today because of changes to tobacco strains and blends.

When I started I read an article that said the point at which to stop smoking a cigar is when the taste changes to something you don't like anymore and that's what I've stuck to. I've binned a Davidoff Salomon after an inch because it was just a mouthful of pepper and burned my fingers on a cheap corona.
