  • What makes a marca?

What makes a brand a brand in the cigar world obvs?

The blend of different cigars in a marca are similar leaves from the same farm (s)?

    Where they are rolled?

    The blenders and tasters?

What gives say, RyJ is brand profile?

The Trinidad marca is potentially about to have a serious vitola make over. Will they all still "be" Trinidad?

That's deep. I often wonder how a hand blended mix of random leaves can maintain a constant flavour for a marca

This stems as much from the nuisance that there's so much variance in a single vitola in a single year!

Let alone spanning years. Or different cigars from the same marca.

Is this what I'd read about in the big cigar books? Time to read MRN?

This is what makes cigars so different to anything else.
The only thing I can say cigars come close to being like is art.

There may be one original Mona Lisa, and millions of copies, but every actual painted copy is a work of art in its own right, with its own unique differences.

There may not be one original cigar of any type, but every one of the same cigar is its own unique work of art.

The blends of each marca are known are only to a few people & hte blend for each vitola by even less. I don't think the leaves come from single farms but they must chose them from a few close farms, where the terrior gives them a similar flavour.
