  • Cuban cigars in Cyprus

Did any of you ever purchase cigars in or from Cyprus? I've read a few times that they had some storage issues there (the distributor) and that most of the older stock has suffered from this. Is there any truth to this? I would appreciate if someone in the know could let me know.

I bought a bit in the Paphos LCDH a few months back. What problems has this supposed caused? I didn’t notice anything off other than a couple of slightly mouldy boxes I stayed away from.

Did you get any old stock?

I've read a few times that most of their old stock had been badly stored and that some of the cigars offered in Cyprus were thus tasteless and/or a bit dried out.

I suppose it depends what is classed as old. I got some 03 Hoyo Du Prince of which I’ve smoked one and it was fantastic. The rest were 15/16 and I’m yet to try, not sure these count as old so hopefully I’ve lucked out assuming it’s true.

A colleague bought 3-4 boxes from Nicosia for me at x-mas including both phoenicia 35 and Monte 80th. The all seem in good condition + both the 35 and 80th. that I smoked were perfect.

The only box of really aged cigars I've purchased were party Charlotte's I would have to say they were not as good as my other box of Charlotte's from Andorra. I have heard the storage argument before something to do with the warehouse not being temperature controlled (its as hot as hell in the summer especially in Nicosia ) stick to the new stock and you'll be fine

Thank you for your input. I thought it over and will not pull the trigger. Not willing to take the risk and I have an upcoming vacation to pay for.
