Definitely mould. Were they in a cardboard 5 pack or anything?

It's always either some kind of mould or bacteria. Most likely a mould. Plume/bloom has not yet shown to be anything other than a mould. As you've tried, if it brushes off easily and there's no stale or weird off smell, it was plume mould and you're good to go! Enjoy!

Mould spores are everywhere in the air. Mold growth requires moisture, a food source (cigar boxes, cedar sheets etc) and a substrate (cigars). Humidor is basically providing good contitions for mould.

I wouldnt worry if it has brushed off. I've had an outbreak like this only for it never to return once cleaned. Just keep an eye on everything.

I had a sudden mold outbreak from one day to the next. I brushed it off and it hasn't come back. Don't worry
