• Websites won?t load on PC

A problem cropped up today that I just can?t solve.

I have windows 10 on a PC which shows a good internet connection, via ethernet cable, but for some reason it stopped loading websites today. I searched the google for all kinds of ?fixes,? including various ?cmd? prompts, but so far...nada.

Any thoughts?

Whats the error your getting?

To test your internet connection pull up command prompt/powershell and type in
ping 8.8.8.8 see what that does. If it has time out or issues then you have a problem with the internet.

Thanks, man. I doesn?t do anything; just goes to another command prompt line.

I have a good connection to the interenet, according to internet setting, and I?m able to connect to the web with my mobil devices. I just can?t load any website on my PC. It?s gotta? be something simple, I just can?t find the trouble maker.

I did read something about problems with multiple antivirus programs, which I think I may have. But it?s nothing new, so....

I?ll keep trying, but suggestions are always welcome.

Yup. Everything ‘cept the last. I just can’t get it to stop!

Running Super Anti Spyware as I type and other malware programs. Problem is, I can’t update the databases for these programs. Dang!

UPDATE: Spyware was running fine I finding lots of issues (cookies mostly), but for some reason it just closes down and I’m unable to delete the identified culprits. WTF! Deano

If it is showing a good internet connection. Then it does sound like your antivirus or anti malware software has injected itself higher into the network stack somewhere and breaking things. Especially if the ping test is not working! That's pretty fundamental.

You could try booting into safe mode see if that helps. You can disable the multiple anti virus and malware. Just leave one running. Uninstall the other (s).

If that doesn't help you might need to boot into a virus scanner and run a full scan from boot to be sure.

Then just run one antivirus software.

They are probably ask trying to inject themselves into the network stack to scan traffic and messing things up.

Good luck.

I've not used Windows other than at work for years. Never looked back.

B.

Try disabling all your antivirus and firewall programs.

Ping 8.8.8.8 opened and new window? It should have results like these

Running on empty

Thanks, guys. I?ve tried about eveything I can think of. Turned off all anit-virus, malware and stuff like that. No help. And I can?t get the 8.8.8.8 ping to work like in your post, Shamz - just goes to a new command prompt line.

It may be time to call the (gulp!) Geek Squad! (Sad)

Do you have system restore enabled on your win10 machine? If enabled try restoring to an earlier version

Yeah the next step might be to check the network properties and check there are no left over network drivers. Weird. But yes if you have access to some nerds might be good.
