  • New Guy - Mould or Plume?

Hi, i had this "mould" about 4 months ago and a quick search suggested that i should wipe off with a soft cloth and light alcohol solution.

its back again - is it mould?

im about to give my family my xmas list lol and not getting new cigars if they will be at risk in the humidor

    thanks in advance

    It's unfortunately mold.

What are you using for humidification?

You could wipe them off again and put them in a small Tupperware container with a 65% Boveda pack.

      ahh shoooot!

i use boveda 69% and they are stable at 70%. they are kept in a good humidor in a drawer in a living room. i keep all my decent cigars (few) in this and loose.

i have another humidor that sits at 65%

would tubing them up and storing in that humidor be better?

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest swapping out the 69% bovedas for 65% as they are probably a bit wet.

          Is it warm in there?

Also i keep over 65% but I do tend to open the humidor fairly frequently. At least once a week. To have a sniff, you know [emoji16]

For years I tried to achieve the 70/70 rule but the smokes were often a bit 'wet' and wouldn't burn properly and needed constant relights
These days I keep everything around 62-65RH and have no problems at all.
Try dropping your humidity to low 60s and your problem should disappear.
