  • It's not mould, it's plume!

This has raised its head elsewhere, as it does from time to time.
I'm befuddled as to why it's still even a discussion, when the existence of plume has not been proven.
Can anyone point me toward any evidence proving that plume exists - and by evidence, I don't mean a master blender from CAO on youtube saying it exists, I mean actual, scientific evidence.....
I'd actually be glad to be proved wrong in my belief that plume is a big fat load of cobblers invented by retailers to get shot of cigars that are past their best

Yes, the FOH thread is great. Members have sent in cigars with alleged plume and they have been tested by a microbiologist. All have been some form of fungus or mould.

I've seen a UK retailer use it as a get out when someone has mentioned mould in a review. I don't know if retailers believe it is true or just use it to defend mouldy cigars. The cynical side of me says its the latter.

Yep - I've read that thread extensively, but couldn't remember if we were allowed to link to FoH, so erred on the side of caution.
And they haven't got what I want.
I'm beginning to think it's because it doesn't exist.
Arguing with someone who believes in plume to arguing with someone who believes in a God - you're arguing with belief, not fact, so it makes it very difficult!
