Interesting how cigars from the same box can deliver different experiences.

They pick cigars based on looks, wrapper colour consistency. So they could be rolled from different batches of leaves?

Could the leaves picked then actually have been matured for different time? If all the leaves are the same age they may well mature differently in that time.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I think it's more likely that we have difference tastes and sensitivity to certain flavors. Some people actually prefer fresh cigars to matured ones. It's all a matter of taste. But I'd be surprised if this one is more than 2 years old, as a few have now picked up on the ammonia notes. Some might enjoy smoking them as they are. I personally think these will be a lot better in a couple of years time. The flavors you can make out underneath the freshness are fantastic.

Either this is my COTM or Santa thinks I've been a very naughty boy...

Alas I've not had time to smoke mine. I knew I should have smoked it at the herf. And now I'm sick. So until I stop blowing green/yellow stuff out my nose it's not going to happen.

I can do the reveal; unless anyone is going to smoke it before the new year?

So this months cigar was a SEP '16 Punch Punch.

I bought these in palma and the box also contained 2 cigars which had pre 2009 bands on, so its a possibility it was a mixesd box, although the wrappers on the others did look uniform.

Well knock me down with a feather - I did not expect this at all! I normally love this smoke (and I had an aged one last night!) going to have to burn number 2 tonight now to see how it smokes!!

Excellent work, thanks again for hosting, also one of those aged punches looks very slender!

                              JEANETTE WINTERSON,

Bugger bugger bugger! Before my last trip to Geneva I went through the COTM list to try to find a cigar that hadn't featured recently, for the next time I host. These arrived via my friend who we stay with just yesterday!

                                Back to the drawing board.

Any interested in a box split?
