Would you say it's a typical flavour for a ERDM?

I'm not hear at recognising flavours....It's quite light and biscuity and would pair well with some Champagne on Xmas day. An afternoon smoke

Hm... price is a bit steep... but I think I just have to try them... And maybe buy a box of the Choix Supreme... or two... or three...

Hey Guys,

I had a Choix Supreme earlier this year, thanks to a box split on this forum. It was 4 different cuban robustos and the Choix Supreme instantly stood out for me as a delicious little stick.

So just now we had a fire alarm and I made the best of it, by going to the Dunhill lounge and picked one of these. It did not let me down. The flavor profile of the Choix Supreme is spot on to my taste. I think I can say, this is my favorite Cuban Robusto, by far.
Now, sadly, there are only two vitolas left. The Robusto and the way too small Demi Tasse.
Can anybody recommend another cigar that comes close to the Choix Supreme, but in a larger format?

ERDM makes 0.7% of the total CC sale as I've heard... shame... But I guess that's the way things go. Instead we get another handful of Partagas, Cohibas, RyJ and Montechristos.

ERDM has always been a minority share of Cuban sales but then not everyone appreciates the more subtle side of Habanos. In these days of big ring gauges & power smokes, those of us who love to occasionally indulge our senses in a more refined way are sadly a diminishing band. Glad you have discovered it before it disappears altogether. There are still some vintage ones around to be found, the old story of only the fuller strength blends being the only ones worthy of aging, misses the ERDM & LGC's completely but both will reward the patient.
One thing these two brands do so well is celebrate the skinny vitola. The LGC No3 is a classic & only has to be smoked slowly, with attention, to avoid it getting too hot & to be able to appreciate the fine aromas. The equivalent for ERDM was the Panatela Largos or the Elegentes (IMHO the same cigar, with a different name, although other most believe oit as the later fetches high prices at auction).

A box of PL came into my position earlier this year, from the 1970's. I have smoked a box of these before from the same decade & thye were gorgous, I have high hopes for these. These have the addition attraction of coming in a wooden cab rahte rthan the dress box. These are very rare & several collectors I spoke too hadn't seen one before.

I have yet to smoke my first, as I am waiting to share the opening with my 2 Antwerp herfing buddies at New Year. If you & Henrik cam wait until after that event, I would be willing to let one go to you both, to make up your parcels & get more from the postage. They are rather expensive but hopefully, a delicious hour plus of 40yrs of Havana history.

How come the box has one of those terrible anti smoking stickers on them? Did you find them in a shop?

Just wanted to say, how much I appreciate the nature of this forum an the people in it. I am in 2-3 Facebook groups and it's such a turn-off as everybody just tries to make some money by selling cigars to other people. The camaraderie on this forum is something very special. This is how things should be.

So glad I did, medium body with lashings of varying flavours and perfect construction.

Yes, Ramon Allones Gigantes being a perfect example of that. Still good but I wish it was just a DC version of the Specially Selected.

I would also agree with the ERDM Grandes de Espana recommendation.

It is said the RAG is actually a bigger version of the RASCC, rather than the SS.

Just a technical note from Mr Pedantic, the ERDM CS is a Hermosa No4 48x50 not a Robusto 50 x 4 7/8.

The webshop I checked has it labelled as a robusto, but one of the customer comments correctly said it was a Hermosa No4. Who would have thought the shop got it wrong? :S

It's very common, because they are close in size people label them together but they are different. The R&J Ex No4, SLR Regios & VR Famosos are also Hermosa No4's.

I mention this so our newer members know there is a difference, as there is indeed in the smoking, the Robusto is supposed to smoke slightly slower, due to the larger ring guage.
