Well if you buy them from the nice lady at the Excursions Desk (not in the cigar shop, where strangely enough I asked first), $50 for the large one, down to $35 & $25 for the smallest I think. I would like to have brought back one one or two but because they are made of marble, they weigh an enormous amount & we are always at our baggage limit. If you have to pay over the 23kg limit, the extra cash wouldn't be worth it. They would also be expensive to post, once back home. I had to shuffle things around so I could bring it back in my hand luggage, with my cigars. I expected to buy a Black & white one but I was taken by this lovely green colour & for once acted rather spontaneously.

I am sure we all aspire to visit Cuba at some point in the future, surely it would be nice to wait until then bring your own back as the one souvenir that certainly won't be going up in smoke!

I just looked on eBay and like Simon says our colonial cousins want silly money for them. I was surprised at the wide range of hotel ashtrays that are available for sale though. People will nick anything!

Not bad, think they had some under the counter as well. Frankly it's become a thriving part of their business but not aren't ,making as much as the guy on FB reselling at x4+.47061439_2384809494881375_3564333469926424576_o.1.jpg

Once i had an entire cast iron fire grate away from a pub because someone said it couldnt be done. I met the landlord in the road as i brought it back to him. I ditched the party to take it back.... The idea of huddling around it in a night club was never going to fly.... We agreed that i was a very daft lump but a decent egg for bringing it back! Student days obviously... Perhaps rugby boys and beer were also involved.

Most simple theft is just about audacity.... Once that penny drops the barrier to lifting ridiculous items falls away and foolish high jinx ensues.... Ahem... All grown up now. Ish.
