  • The Late Hour - recommendations?

Hi all and hope you all had a great Christmas. personally, ive been working except the day itself but couldn't have fun - started work next day 5am and im a driver

anyway, my daughter seen this cigar in my internet history, i know pretty alarming right! and she bought me one...

does it need to sleep a while in the humidor (been in there 2 days 18 hrs) like a Cuban and what Whisky would go well - im a Jock and would like to light this up after the bells. im also off work for 5 days in a row

No, NCs are good to smoke straight away. This is a fantastic cigar, enjoy it!

I'd recommend a good bourbon with this, though I personally tend not to have spirits with my cigars, just a personal preference.

Agreed I find NC usually dont need as much TLC as cubans and should be good to go straight away. I've not tried the late hours but have heard good things.

Should be good to go,just like it has already been mentioned NCs are ready to go more or less straight away because the tobacco used is already aged sufficiently to taste exactly how the blender intended it to(just look at a regular production cigar like the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990,that cigar is made with a 12yr old wrapper and is a relatively inexpensive smoke in the grand scheme of things. You don't get that with Cubans,Cubans need rest and plenty of patience.) Should be perfect to smoke just after auld lang syne! Enjoy!

im thinking of buying a box of these bad boys.

would i need to store them separately from Cubans?

Not if they're in a box

sorry Peejay. let me ask again...

would they be ok in my humidor with my cubans. do they need to be in a humidor at all?

they come wrapped in cellophane and wouldnt "marry" if stored with cubans, so no need for a separate humidor if one is needed.

eta. stored as in side by side or on top of each other loose

Some people worry that they would improve the flavour of their Cubans so wouldn't store them together. They do need to be in a humidor. The cello is permeable so don't regard it as much of a barrier. if you're worried just store them to one side of a partition to prevent physical contact. when you said you were buying a box I didn't think you were going to take them out of it to put in a humidor, most box buyers tend to have storage big enough to store whole boxes whence there would be no issue with being contaminated by your Cubans.

Save the box for when your storage expands, and it will.
