I love to cycle, do so every day. Maybe not tomorrow though since it's going to snow.

Have you tried fly fishing? Just being outside and trying to outwit the fish is fun. Plus having lunch and a stick always helps! But I've fished for about 35 years anyway. Love it but I seem to hardly get the chance any more!
Nope never tried any sort of fishing. I vaguely remember something when i was a kid that involved a hook and my thumb. I expect after that, there wasn't much interest in fishing...

There seems to me a lot of cigar smokers either shoot or fish. Not quite sure why they should overlap so much. Cant think of anything worse personally!

During the summer i basically live at my cricket club and there isnt much time for anything else, which is fine because theres plenty of time for a cigar once youve got out for not many runs (happens more often than id like these days!). Im also taking singing lessons at the moment, which actually costs me nearly as much as the cigars... Been doing karaoke for years but i thought i would give this a go. Its great because my tutor has his own studio so we get to record something every week. Can be found on youtube here https://m.youtube.com/user/albo97056

Its time outdoors - plain and simple!

I returned to cricket last season after 20 years 'off' - loved it. ... nets begin for the coming season this weekend!.....
a steady walk around the boundary to sit down under a tree with a decent stick is a fine way to spend some time!

Wimp! Didn't stop me & there was a 6lb pike attached by wire & another treble hook, had to unhook the fish, cut the wire & 2 hooks that weren't buried in my flesh & then tried to push it through. Ha! Way toooo sensitive place for that, rowed to the beach & got a lift to A&E. I was back on the bank within two hrs. Caught 29 pike that day, a personal record for me (my previous was 19). Whats your club? Do you play in a league or just friendlies?

A million years ago I played for Oxshot... but also for a long since dead wandering side who played more enjoyable and frankly higher standard cricket on sundays than most saw on a Saturday in the leagues. We had test players and all sorts turn out for us. I was a bodger with kit.

And I still am that bodgher with kit. I do play league cricket, play for Astwood Bank.... who regularly get into the latter stages of the national village thing... but these days i fudge about in the 4ths chucking a lot of bottom hand at just about everything.... dashing calypso innings, or a quiet humble walk back to the hutch. All or nothing! Local leagues changes over the winter... so I have no recollection whether we are now partof birmingham leagues or worcestershire. Which ever we are in, its rumoured that it wont be as competitive as the previous seasons, and the clubs we play against wont be of the same quality of competition or facilities... so I am expecting handgrenades on rough cart tracks.... which will suit me fine!

77 all out in the windies today... shocker

Ive tried a few hobbies and can never seem to stick them. 100 excuses no reasons?.

? Had 3 guitars and only learned 3 chords
? Had a motorbike ? turned out to be a Chinese import rebranded ? learned a lot about repair plus lost confidence when the stand came off cornering.
? Attic is full of fishing gear ? on motorbike - I strapped rods to my back, packed helmet box and toured Donegal a whole season. Only eat Cod so was always catch and release. I like being beside water.
? Photography ? bought an expensive camera and got fed up of the weather here and sold it, I did buy an older good camera and occasionally venture out.
? Shooting ? closest club is a good drive away and in the arse end of nowhere. Need a 4x4 to reach it if the weather turns just a bit.
? Gardening ? took this up when I was getting pretty stressed and was sick for bit, stressed me out even more!
? I also used to fix pcs, laptops, printers etc and built from scratch for a while - that led to being paid in bottles of whisky and started a collection I don?t get the opportunity to enjoy now.
? Tried a few more like model building, DIY but just cant get the time or mind-set to settle into anything.

Now I pretty much work, sleep and watch a lot of movies, head out not so regularly to my local after the cinema or a meal.
Ive tricked myself into believing ill drink my whiskys and smoke cigars when I get a job with no crazy shifts or weekends off.

Wow that reads like an old guy rant!

ETA: i have started going on holidays a lot in the past few years but hate organising them and dont enjoy flying 1 bit!

I play guitar occasionally and a couple of years ago I started building models again after a hiatus of 20 years (model making is another hobby that get unnecessarily expensive very fast, and also like cigars, something where you acquires more models than you will ever need!)

The only issue with any hobby though is that my two children take up most of my time!
