They are already aflame! So long as you light the heater before the cigar... [emoji23][emoji2962]

Another advantage of electric is you can tell Alexa to switch the heating on in advance [emoji41][emoji91]

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Yes, thinking of gas leak in hut & then lighting up. Spark the gas fire to switch it on would have same effect. I agree Electric & Alexa the way to go!

Having assembled a cabin from Dunster house I certainly wouldn't recommend them. The quality of the cabin didn't warrant the premum price and the extras such as the floor insulation were around 400% more expensive than b&q. The customer was happy but ignorance does have that effect.

I had one from Dunster and it was great - but it is very expensive compared to summer houses etc, being a proper log cabin. With the insulation I found it extremely warm with just a couple of electric rads that were only about ?15 each. Having less space at my new property, I'll be downsizing even further - I originally had the smallest log cabin Dunster did, not sure what I'll do now!!

would you recommend Dunster? the site looks like good quality kit.

Yeh I thought it was great, big effort to put together though! It's expensive but you get what you pay for - logs as opposed to just planks!

Sarcy git! It's a new build so garden is small. Quite long but no width and the corners have been earmarked as raised beds and another patio, by the Mrs!

The least she could let you have is a pergola to keep the rain off. On a side note apparently in Britain we now build the smallest homes in Europe.

To be fair she suggested I could have this: https://www.gbcgroup.co.uk/summerhou...ummerhouse.htm

But it's in complete contradiction to the patio and raised beds demands, as there's no other room!

I do see what your saying they are certainly a big step up from a 'summer house', in terms of the insulation and general build it's wildly different from a panel built shed/garden building.
However 40mm thick planed planks with interlocking corners doesn't make it a log cabin, for that logs would be required, (log cabins also have the logs individually fitted together, each joint is unique)
Because they are factory made then sorted into kits the interlocks are cut with a tolerance, this makes them much looser than ideal (drive a screw downwards to pull them together and the bottom lifts). Adding extra rooms means literally screwing them to the side with a few brackets.
The first finished effect can be very nice but In my humble a good local joiner could build a much better cabin for the price given the premum they charge.
End of the day you pays your money and takes your choice.
