These really are rather good sticks- thx thedame007 and PeeJay for the creative group buy a while back. I?ve hugely enjoyed the ones I?ve had so far [emoji106]

Thought I?d see if the one I smoked the other day was a lucky score. Nope, this one is just as delicious!

I hosted @grumpybaldy today to try the Capitolio and it did not disappoint although Chris had issues with his draw and had to deploy the Perfecdraw and they both needed a few relights. Overall however a very nice cigar and thanks to @gojira for sourcing them. Big thanks to Chris for the gift he brought as well. Note to future guests, gifts are not necessary.

Always a pleasure john! The two Capitolios I had both had perfect construction, sorry to hear that you had some issues with them.

Monday 18th February 2019

I’m looking forward to this one tonight Dalay Limitada...I’ve held off, but temptation called and won...beautiful smell and I love the look of the wrapper with the faint mottling

Well into first third. Initial spice calms down after initial draws. Retrohales like it’s on rails - lots of cool smoke. Someone previously commented on the fuel like taste. It is more like cedar and grafite, like the aroma you get from a newly sharpened pencil, a pleasant aroma to me as it doesn’t overwhelm the senses

Into second third spice remains very subtle on tip of tongue and im retrohale. A mild cigar, with lots of flavours coming through - tea, cedar, cracker hints of sweetness - bit of a wavy burn which it self corrects

Final third and the flavours pile through. I can understand others saying the flavour profile doesn’t quite know what it wants to be. Can be tea/grassy one retrohale, chocolate/nutty the next. Cedar/woody remains throughout. The spice is still there, never over powering, very pleasant. Some slight bitterness- which is quickly removed with my first purge. Personally, I like the cornucopia of flavours this cigar delivers. I will put some aside to age as I think this cigar will get even better.

Glad, I went for a box - I do like this one - sadly the journey ends all too soon 52 mins - Thanks to @Niela for arranging the box split of these

Thanks for a great afternoon, John; a privilege and a pleasure to experience the hospitality of the legendary Herf Hut. Time flew; hope I didn't overstay my welcome!
Mike - really enjoyed the Capitolio; any issues probably down to my 'over purging' technique!

I'm glad that you liked the Capitolio Chris. Over purging technique, lol. We all have our habits when we smoke a cigar, I retrohale with nearly every puff.

Snap. I struggle to not retrohale now - which with some NCs can result in very watery eyes! Haha

I'd favour a jar filled with CCs now that you don't need them anymore.

Not retrohaling but reading the paper whilst smoking which necessitated the wearing of glasses I found some of the smoke curling up behind the glass and getting in my eyes.
