No problem Greg, uptake has been slow so lets get on with it

Well I have smoked both of my first set today:

It was really interesting doing it this way!

                    First third:

Cello - Honey sweet, vanilla notes, with a cinnamon spice on the retrohale. Reminds me of cheap spice rum - I?m looking at you Captain Morgan!

Naked - Salty Cuban twang kicks it off, earthier, sugary notes but without the richness (candy floss), and no spice to speak of

                    Second Third:

Cello - Spice is turned up a notched, with added pepper but this is tamed by the vanilla sugar. Body has increased, and it?s reminding me of Christmas!

Naked - Cedar and that Cuban twang, but then it becomes all rather nutty, almond and pecans (god I love pecans!) which went hand in hand with the sugar. Still quite a mild/medium smoke

                    Final Third:

Cello - spice is now in the driving seat, becoming more full bodied, but still holding that rum quality. Started to turn bitter near the end.

Naked - surprisingly it started to mimic the cello stick at the beginning; honey, spice, and vanilla. Medium body at the most.

Well that was a fantastic experience, thank you John. If I had to pick, it?s the machine made I?d reach for - I?m a sucker for those rum/Christmas flavours! But I would also not be disappointed if I had a box of the handmade ones!

Also, the ash on the machine made was really dark throughout, whereas the handmade one had the more typical white/grey speckled tones.

One is machine made and the other not? I am as confused about this one as I am intrigued... [emoji5]

Yeah, me too! I seem to have missed where this was mentioned.

Thanks thedame007 for the review. I will try to get some time later today to light one up.

I don’t think it was mentioned initially, but the one in the cello is, I believe, machine made and there is no need to cut the head of the cigar as it’s already open!

Please note - I may be very wrong!

I was thinking the cello was an old cello wrapper ...but make sense you've said it.

Having one of the unwrapped ones right now... very very mild... must have a bit of age on it... Flavours are nice, but subtle... I would wish for a bit more intensity. I am pretty sure this one is aged and that would mean the wrapped one is younger. Looking forward to the younger version...
