  • Cuba Trip

    Morning,

I am away in Cuba for a couple of weeks next month and thought I'd see if anyone has any tips or any particular smokes they'd recommend trying that are rare outside of Cuba itself. My time will be split between Havana, Trinidad and Vinales if that helps at all.

Fairly new to cigars so very much still learning my way with them.

Any other tips or suggestions for Cuba itself would be appreciated also

    Cheers

    Hi.
    Very envious!
Pending hearing back from some of those who have been (of which there are plenty here) and who will, I'm sure, have some good advice, it might be worth doing some research on 'Custom Rolls' which seem to be the thing there; hopefully someone will offer some recommendations on these.
Sorry I can't be more help. Look forward to hearing about the trip! Lots of cigar pics!

If you can bear the weight in your luggage (they're heavy) then get a few. You can make a very good profit on eBay.

With the experience I have now, I?d do the following If I was fairly new to cigars:
visit some LCDH?s or Casa del Tabaco?s along the way. You?ll pass by plenty wherever you go. Pick a few singles her and there and smoke them as you go along. In Cuba it?s not a problem to smoke 2,4 or more in a day.

If you?re then in Havana the last days, I?d go see one of the custom rollers and fill up my quota and bring home. Buy different formats. They?re all excellent smokes usually between 3,5 and 6-7 euros a piece. Smoke those at home for the next year while you get acquainted with cigars and slowly start buying some boxes/part boxes.

Just how heavy are they? I don't tend to take much when away really so can't imagine I wouldn't have some space

Are there any particular custom rollers you'd recommend? Not sure how much the quality varies between them as they're a new idea to me

I was supposed to be doing exactly that trip about now. I don't think my marriage will ever be the same again.

                            Enjoy the trip

Read this thread, pretty good. Alex is at the Comodore hotel, all his rolls are very good, start with him he is also very talkative.

I didn't know what to expect, but used it more as a recon trip for the 2nd time i go. I don't recommend anyone go to Cuba in the summertime. I would say go from October to February. I traded over 3500 Euros at the airport, and quickly found out that it was not going to be enough. So there is A LO...
