Anyone know why this one might not be opening it's flowers!? It's upsetting MLW.

The rhododendron next to it seems happy. And we have one at the front of the house that opens hundreds of flowers!

It's absolutely covered in flowers but they won't open!

Global warming f@@@ing up the weather. My GF was complaining about a plant of hers having exactly the same problem yesterday.

      Bloody Brexit! [emoji16]

Hoping one of the experts have a solution. Maybe singing to it. Or special feed. I don't think it would survive a relocation. Seems to get enough sun in its position for most of the day. Not dismissing the weather mind! But it's been this way for years this plant.

MLW waters and feeds it. It's grown to this size ok. Just won't unleash it's glory.

This looks like frost touched the flower bulbs that were almost ready to pop. That kills them.

Probably this.... if there are no other signs of ?pest? intervention. The plant looks to be in pretty good order otherwise

If you have Camellia japonica planted in your landscape, winter can be a frustrating time. Camellias are famous for two things, glossy dark evergreen foliage and the potential for abundant […]

                  Ooh. Thanks for the link!

We're in a clay area and MLW does over water things... Will mention this too. Of course she'll disagree [emoji1787]

"Make sure your plants stay consistently watered. A steady supply of water could provide the necessary hydration your plants need to move from flower buds to full flowers. However, camellias can?t stand poor drainage and wet feet. Be sure your plants drain well. "
