Last night of the hols so decided to light up the Upmann Reserva.

Started off beautifully, fanatastic draw, smooth, soft, woody flavour. This developed and got a bit stronger towards the halfway mark but then started canoeing badly. This was annoying more than anything but shouldn't really happen to something that's marketed as a premium stick (and sold at premium+ prices!). If I'd paid for this perhaps I'd be a bit more peeved...

The flavours really became heavier and earthier into the last third, but still retained a fantastic smoothness up until the last inch or so when it became to hot to enjoy, perhaps because of my enthusiastic puffing...

I really enjoyed this but I don't think they're worth the price tag. I've had just as much, if not more, enjoyment from regular production sticks.

Edit to tag gojira Stevieboy SHAMZ84 as they may be interested in this.

Interesting Marc! But just as I feared. I purchased a box of Sir Winston GR last year and must say that I wasn't too happy with their construction, most of them were underfilled.

I'm still looking forward to smoke the No.2 that I have. Might light it up for my birthday next month.

Glad you enjoyed it Neil, try one when you finally get a hot (well warm anyway) afternoon in Aberdeen, it will help bring out the more delicate aromas.

gojira Go for it, I say. Certainly an enjoyable smoke. I'm sure you've got plenty else to take your mind off it, if it fails to deliver

            True

Might as well fetch it the next time I go home and smoke it!
