  • Cigar Spreadsheet needed

As it's throwing it down today I thought I would catalogue my small collection off cigars before I lose track of what is was and where and when I bought them from, review so on and so on.

I'm sure some one will have a spreadsheet for this purpose. I have read that one member has done it but I can't find the post thread where I read it.

You can add everything Cuban to the cubancigarwebsite. Their feature is pretty neat. They also have a smoked cigars diary on there. It?s what I use since I smoke CCs only.

I've seen mention of others using cigargeeks who have an app I think that might be worth checking out

If record making / taking is your thing start early...

I tried to re-catalogue when everything was about a quarter of the way into what I now hold, and failed. I had a beautiful book with pencil notes and tallies to keep record of box age and relative merits of age etc... and utterly scuppered myself by buying and not recording and smoking and not recording for a few months - it came down around my ears quite quickly after that!!!!

I now rely on my brain... .. for which I am fortunate to have a fairly reliable longer term eidetic memory... but box codes help ROFL!

Just don't have a cost in your spreadsheet sheet it won't read well

Agreed, it doesn't read well, but I put cost into my spreadsheet - mainly for MLW, so she knows the approximate value of my stash/individual cigars - and doesn't go selling them all off at ridiculously low prices, or giving them away, if I am no longer around. Morbid I know, but sensible risk mitigation.

I would thank you all for comments and suggestion I will check them out I do have a really nice lined book I was thinking of using but then I read that someone had a spread sheet with a password protection on it.

I will see if I can locate the said thread I think it was in Humidor section

Out of interest how in depth do you go on these?

Especially with reviews in comparison to age etc. Do you have your own views on ideal age of cigars etc.?

Start a thread here with a list of all your cigars and edit the main post updating your collection and adding notes as you go?

I keep one spreadsheet. Each table in spreadsheet is by storage device and average temp/humidity and within each table I track
Manufacturer, Cigar name/Size, Country of Origin, Number of cigars, Source of purchase, Box code/Age, or when purchased, Purchase Value, Price (UK prices), Total Value.

Against the Cigar/Manufacturer I add any comments/reviews/Links - and use a colour code highlight for either really excellent or piss poor smokes. Passes/bombs/gifts etc also have their own colour codes

The spreadsheet is saved to Dropbox and if I need to check edit the tables I can do so from anywhere on my phone and save the changes back

At one stage I designed an all singing, all dancing spreadsheet which basically recorded everything of interest, but I must admit this has completely fallen by the wayside now.

It is a Filemaker file so could send that over if you've got a programme that could run it?
