I'm sure you'd get a better flavour if you took a sip of your spirit before smoking a cigar.

Thats 3 weeks to the day i sealed these up. What the hell do i do now lol - should have researched that part too lol

21 days at 81% cant be good. ive took the whisky out now and popped in a half dried 65% boveda - hopefully something will happen.

sticks have definitely taken on the smell at least

edit. minus 2 on the hygrometer so 79%

He says 3 to 4 weeks but he personally likes 3 to 4 months. I cant wait that long. If it works I'll consider soaking a boveda or something. The sticks are very moist just now and the whisky used is now like water. Still tastes of whisky but diluted. Would need topped up

So I guess you now dry box them for a few days until they come down to a more known humidity before smoking.

I can understand why folks just dip them in whisky.

Well I have set one cigar (yeah I know, skin flint me...)inside a Tupperware box with a glass of rather nice metaxa brandy. Its been steeping in that atmosphere now for a month and I shall leave it alone till Christmas, whereafter I shall report back!!!

Goodness me...I popped the hygromomimum machine into the box yesterday and it says 99 percent!! The cigar is very affected, so much so that I have taken it out and put it back in the humidity for a rest. Cant bear to see the poor thing suffer like that!! How do the drug barons cope in the deep rain forests I wonder???
