    Hi,

I've recently joined the forum and got into cigars. So far I've purchased a selection of cigars from the C.Gars budget list. A handful of the Dutch ones, camachos, chinchaleros etc...

I'm working through them in order of ring gauge, low to high, but will soon be running out. I've also bought a few robustos separately, and a handful of montecristo/RyJ to save for occasions.

I'm just wanting to know if anyone can point me towards a sample pack available which offers good value and a good range. Being new to cigars, I've not formed opinions on what exactly I like, so just wanting to try as many as I can really, without stretching to the high end just yet.

Looked on C.Gars Ltd and Cigar Club, but if anyone has anywhere else that might be worth trying, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

You're definitely in good hands with the CGars samplers. Buy one or two of theirs

Thanks a lot! A lot of samplers on there, and a site I've not come across before

Some UK retailers don't charge a premium for singles. So you can make your own samplers! [emoji4]

Yeah I've noticed the savings are usually rather minimal over buying singles vs samplers, or even vs multipacks really.
But I'm building up my carts across a few websites, and seeing what I can end up with. Hoping to find something I like at a reasonable price which I can buy a 5/10 pack of.

I think I will be ordering the Cuban Robusto sample from Cgars as my first purchase after joining the forum.

I've had that on my wishlist for some time now... When I feel like chucking ?150 in my humidor I'll be having it lol. I've been focussing more on the new world stuff to begin with. I do have a handful of Cubans which I'm saving for now while I get through some of the more 'budget friendly' cigars.

I?ve been back and forth in my mind over trying some budget options or going straight for the Cubans but my logic is I would only smoke 1 maybe 2 a week so the actual cost is pretty low compared to a lot of other hobbies.

Yeah I'm of the same opinion as you. I'm hoping to find a reasonably priced new world cigar that I can buy 5/10 of to share or have as something more regular. I bought the AVO Purito sampler and the two I've had have been much nicer than some of the other 'cheap' stuff so far, I quite liked them. But still need a healthy stock of Cubans [emoji106]

I decided to start small, as much as I wanted to Cuban sample I think I?ll only smoke outside on nice summer afternoons/evenings so 8 may be too many with English summer probably over after last weeks heat wave.

I decided on a Romeo y Julieta short Churchill, Trinidad Viaga and Davidoff Millennium Robusto to see how the new world compare to the Cubans.

See you have managed to figure that out on your own Midas; go for quality rather than quantity, chose prime Havana's & you won't go far wrong IMHO.

Thanks, glad to know I seem to be heading in the right direction. My latest strategy is filtering to Robusto size and then by order of best reviews and trying to find some cheaper options which are well regarded.
